The I International Congress of Flamenco will be held in the convent of Santa Clara, Seville, on 10 and 12 November.Seville will host the 1st International Congress of Flamenco the closure thereof shall make it a spectacle, yet to be determined, in the three cultures Foundation, on the island of la Cartuja, very close to our hotels in Seville. The inaugural conference of this encounter will be pronounced by the writer Jose Manuel Caballero Bonald. The program includes three specific work tables, two sectoral meetings, two round tables and a presentation. The main objective of the Congress is the creation of a forum of encounter and reflection among actors that comprise the jondo universe. In addition, the research in this area will be encouraged and will be known and will assess the most important changes in the sector as well as its impact on the market.
Also, with this important event, you deepen the perception of flamenco as an object of study. The result of it lay the groundwork for the drafting of the book White of Flamenco, which is intended to analyse the present of jondo art and lay the groundwork for its proper management and promotion in the future. The first of the tables will focus on flamenco as heritage. The second scheduled table will focus on the possibilities of jondo art as cultural industry. And the relationship between flamenco and the media will be the topic to be discussed at the third table. The program is completed with two round tables, one in which Flemish artists will participate and will be moderated by the journalist Manuel Curao; and another in which the various representatives of the groups that make up the structures of the jondo, directed by Juan Manuel Suarez Japan will be cited.
